The Animated 3D Museum: Links

On this page we provide some links to sites which offer free images to download for personal use. Unfortunately copyright protection will not allow us to usually provide these images to you directly from our site, but you are free to visit the listed sites and find things that interest you..

One of the best animation companies around has a portfolio site from Caligari users, which use trueSpace for 3D rendering.

Many of these museum pictures come pre-poster framed, which just seems to really fit the theme of the museum.

The best feature of the museum is that it is very much your museum, with your pictures and your sounds prominently featured. It is just as easy to follow the classical theme and show art by the great masters, as it is to go high-tech with wierd techno-bop in the background. Many sound formats are supported, so finding sound files should not be all that hard.

This program could even be a sales piece in an art gallery, with past projects showing onscreen in a more eclectic manner.

The younger set can find cool images from the game development community. Many game publishers offer amazing screen shots of their programs.

Game Screen Shots.com has a lot of images:

One neat feature of this program is that exhibits have been designed to match in size the aspect ratio from the original image file. This makes it easier for the program to render exhibits with a high level of quality and adds more realism to the scene.

Note: jpg, bmp, png, and tga image formats are supported.

Links to Music and humorous Sound Files :

Sound files can be harder to come by, but not impossible. Many software programs will also be able to translate your CD files into readable mp3 format.

NOTE: wav, wma, mp3, mid, au, midi, rmi, aif, snd sound formats (and more) are supported.

It is advisable to NOT download executable programs from some of the free-ware sites until you are sure you can easily un-install them. Unfortunately some sites will provide these files for free, but the installer is not reliable, and can cause some problems.

...By the way, this program, The Animated 3D Museum can be uninstalled in the standard, normal, fashion from your Windows Control panel.

The Sproing site has really cool, and long mp3 background music that just seems to fit ScreenBOT's need to travel:

To be fair to them it might be good to check out some of the games that were produced with the sounds from their team...

I personally like to break up cool music files with short humorous sound clips from famous comedies, like Abbott and Costello, or Monty Python :
